Geoffrey Knesal | President
Born and raised in Gulfport, MS, Geoffrey attended undergraduate and graduate school at Mississippi State University before returning home to begin his career in construction in 2005, just 2 weeks after Hurricane Katrina. During those rebuilding years post-Katrina, Geoffrey was able to witness firsthand the importance of being a quality and honest contractor here on the MS Gulf Coast and the significance of construction to the community.
Throughout Geoffrey’s 20+ years in construction, he has gained invaluable experience in construction operations, contracting, project management, scheduling, estimating, bidding, cost control, field operations, and much more. Geoffrey’s leadership and management have led to the successful completion of several landmark projects across the MS Gulf Coast, including the Hancock Bank Tower Restoration, Hard Rock Hotel Platinum Tower, New Gulfport High School, and the Mississippi Aquarium, among others.
Geoffrey was a member of the 2013-2014 class of Leadership Gulf Coast, a member of the 2020 class of Leadership Mississippi, and was honored as a recipient of a “One Coast Top 10 Under 40” in 2019. Geoffrey has entrenched himself into the south Mississippi community and understands the importance of relationships built along the way and aims to emphasize Gnarly Construction’s commitment to open communication and honest construction with all members of the project team.

Justin Shorkley | Vice President
Justin was born and raised in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and earned his degree from Mississippi State University as a member of the inaugural graduating class of the Building Construction Science (BCS) program.
With more than 15 years of experience, Justin has successfully completed projects across the gaming, hospitality, industrial, recreational, and healthcare sectors. His portfolio includes several notable projects, including multiple U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities, the Stennis A3 Test Stand, and the Mississippi Aquarium.
Throughout his career, Justin has built a reputation for delivering practical, client-focused solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to quality, collaboration, and attention to detail. He enjoys working closely with owners, architects, and contractors to navigate complex projects from concept through completion, ensuring each project meets its goals while exceeding client expectations.
As a lifelong Mississippian, Justin takes pride in contributing to projects that strengthen communities across the Gulf Coast and beyond. His diverse experience, technical expertise, and dedication to building lasting relationships make him a trusted partner for clients and project teams alike.
